Island- Large Farmhouse Kitchen Island with Cherry End Grain Butcher Block Top
Island- Large Farmhouse Kitchen Island with Cherry End Grain Butcher Block Top
This unit was a custom piece we made for a customer in Washington state. Our family had fun handcrafting this beautiful larger island with a slide out cookie sheet storage area along with the four steel canisters for utensils. And the complementing colors of brick red and the cherry end grain butcher block top adds so much warmth. Each cabinet door area has adjustable slide out shelf with a back on it to keep items from falling off the back when you slide it out. The two drawers are a nice size and deep so you can organize or store a lot of kitchen items. And let’s not forget the cherry end grain butcher block top that you can actually cut and prep on. The overall size of this unit is 26x54 and this particular unit has shaker doors and shaker panels across the back of the unit. The base of this unit is made out of either poplar or yellow pine.
End grain butcher blocks are the end of the wood board turned to where the end of the wood is now all on the top, which makes the top 3 times harder than top grain or side grain wood counter tops. Our handcrafted end grain butcher block tops come with a one year warranty because if it is going to crack it will crack within the first year since your home goes through different seasons too when you turn on the heat in winter or AC in the summer. We also send a container of our beeswax solution for you to condition your end grain top twice a month to keep it from drying out too much.
For custom sizes for this color combination please email us or text us at 256-303-5901 for a faster response. Please keep in mind this unit is made to order, it is not actually in stock. Our family will need anywhere from 3 months to 6 months depending on what time of year to handcraft this unit. Also keep in mind that our price points are based on our cost of living in the southern United States so that is why our prices are very reasonable for our very high quality and end grain butcher block tops that are over 2 inches thick. We also do not raise our prices to cover our cost of shipping, so if you live out west or far north then there will be a additional charge for shipping because of how much more expensive it is to ship to these areas.
